Clinical Practice

Dr. Heavin provides both therapeutic and assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Heavin also provides case consultation and supervision to non-profit agencies.

Children

Dr. Heavin specializes in treating children and adolescents with disruptive behavior problems, mood disorders, adjustment difficulties, and histories of trauma and neglect. She utilizes a variety of empirically supported treatments, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.

Adults and Families

Dr. Heavin provides therapeutic services for adults, couples, and families seeking to improve their parenting skills, familial communication, or adjustment to major life events. She uses empirically supported treatments with families, such as Functional Family Therapy. Dr. Heavin also has advanced expertise in Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy.

Dr. Heavin is not accepting therapy patients at this time.
